At Blessed Disability Support Services we provide an extensive range of care services with our highly qualified and skilled staff. We have a specialisation in community nursing. Our focus is on caring for people in their own home where they need more clinical nursing support. We also provide short term, medium term and respite accommodation as required by participants.

You know we will be there when you need us with our 24/7 support. Our holistic approach means that we will meet your unique needs by using a diverse range of approaches that is guided by evidence based practice and participant requirements.

Our community nurses work closely with both doctors and allied health professional to provide the highest level of care at all times, where the individual’s needs are at the core of all we do.

Community Nursing

Blessed Disability Support Services is committed to providing clinical nursing support where it’s needed most. Our team, consisting of accredited professional nurses with extensive expertise, is available 24/7. This means we are there when you need us.

Our main objective is to actively empower individuals, assisting them in leading lives that are both as independent and healthy as possible. This involves proactively managing existing conditions, preventing illnesses, and promoting a lifestyle that supports overall well-being. Whether it’s short-term, longer-term, or overnight care, our commitment remains steadfast, guaranteeing support whenever it’s needed.

In delivering community nursing services, we cover post-hospitalisation care, general nursing assistance, wound management, complex bowel care, urinary catheter management and enteral feeding. In addition, Blessed Disability Support Services is dedicated to providing friendly, quality care tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.

Household and Domestic Support

At Blessed Disability Support Services we offer a range of NDIS Household and Domestic Support Services. The goals is to assist individuals with disabilities in managing their day-to-day living arrangements. This support is designed to enhance the participant’s capacity for independent living and contribute to their overall well-being.

The range of Household and Support Services we provide include:

  • Washing  and drying dishes
  • Laundry washing, drying  and ironing
  • Mopping and vacuuming floors 
  • Dusting and wiping down benches
  • Making meals
  • Grocery shopping
  • Changing bed sheets
  • General home maintenance
  • Mowing lawns
  • Tidying up gardens
  • Clearing footpaths
  • Assistance with learning new home and garden skills

Housing and Accommodation

Ensuring a welcoming and supportive home for individuals with disabilities, especially as their needs evolve, is at the heart of what we do at Blessed Disability Support Services. We offer a range of accommodation options tailored specifically to the unique requirements of people with disabilities.

For those in need of a brief respite or navigating a transitional period, our short-term accommodations provide a secure and comfortable place to call home.

Our medium-term accommodations are designed to offer stability and support in various circumstances. This includes while waiting for a Participant’s home to be modified.

And it’s not just about a place to stay; our commitment to well-being is constant. Our support team is available 24/7, ready to offer assistance and create an environment where individuals with disabilities feel secure and supported.

Social and community participation

Recognising the significance of social and community participation for NDIS Participants, we are dedicated to providing the support to engage in a range of activities. Our support includes providing transportation to the activity, assistance during the activity, and aiding in the development of skills to enhance participation and enjoyment of social events.

Development of Life Skills

Blessed Disability Support Services empowers Participants to lead more independent lives and actively participate in their communities.

Our process begins by taking the time to understand each participant’s unique goals. From this understanding, a plan is developed to assist individuals in gaining the skills needed. These skills are aimed at increasing independence, confidence, and self-esteem.

We provide support in various life skills, including:

  • Communication skills development
  • Household management
  • Personal hygiene
  • Money skills – including budgeting
  • Grocery shopping
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Travel training

Our aim is to assist individuals in acquiring these essential life skills, enhancing their ability to lead fulfilling lives within their community.

Assist with Daily Personal Activities

Based on a Participant’s individual needs (as identified in their NDIS Plan) we provide assistance and supervision for various daily personal activities. Whether in supported accommodation or their own homes, our goal is to customise care, promoting independence in daily living. This includes tasks like:

  • Getting ready for the day, including showering, bathing, oral hygiene, dressing and grooming
  • Toileting, bladder and bowel management
  • Eating and drinking
  • Attending various appointments, including social, recreational, educational, and medical commitments.

Assist with Daily Personal Activities - high Intensity

We assist and supervise various daily personal activities for Participants requiring high intensity support due to their complex needs. The required assistance level is determined in consultation with Participants as outlined in their NDIS plan. The support we provide is delivered by qualified and experienced care workers with skills tailored to address the participant’s specific needs.

Some of the services we provide include:

  • Ventilation management
  • Stoma care
  • Complex bowel care
  • Enteral feeding and management
  • Urinary catheter management
  • Pressure care and wound management

Respite Care Options

We understand that being a caregiver for a family member with disability can be both fulfilling and challenging. That’s why we offer respite care services for Participants, either in the comfort of their homes or in our own accommodation options.

It’s not just a break for carers; it’s an opportunity for Participants to explore new activities and create enjoyable moments while their dedicated carers take some well-deserved time off.

Our respite care is designed to create a supportive and nurturing environment, ensuring Participants with disability are well cared for. This allows caregivers to take a break with peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are in good hands.
